Multifunction increases equipment utilisation
In its 60th anniversary year, Wiedenmann presented new machines for green space maintenance, dirt removal and winter maintenance. The trade visitors were amazed, for example, by the new Super 1300M: a lawn sweeper that can also be used for mowing and scarifying – this saves considerable costs. The manufacturer also relies on this concept for other attachments.
It all started at Wiedenmann in 1964 with the collection of grass and leaves. The Super 1300M impressively demonstrates what has happened since then in terms of technology. Instead of the standard brush roller on the market, there is a multi-care head. It carries the tools for the new functions and turns the Super machine into a super machine: instead of three separate devices, the greenkeeper only needs one.
The stand in Hall 9 was usually well attended. According to Wiedenmann, there were many ‘high-quality enquiries’. These also related to another new product, the compact RMR 240 W large-area mower. The front deck is equipped with folding side wings that can be used independently of each other. They enable a working width of 240 cm with a transport width of just 180 cm. Here too, one machine is enough for narrow contour and wide area mowing.
Wiedenmann also presented its Terra Rake 170/230 with the Airdos pneumatic reseeding system. This combination also offers a double benefit: The turf felt is removed from the area in a single pass and the reseeding is carried out immediately after the organic material has been removed.
There was also the full programme for winter maintenance. Wiedenmann’s Vario technology took centre stage: snow ploughs with side wings that can be folded in like a mower so that both pavements and large areas can be cleared with just one machine.
This multifunctionality runs through the entire programme of the manufacturer, which offers more than 120 devices for almost all maintenance tasks in sports and leisure facilities as well as in the municipal sector.
